At Renewed Hope Family Camp our goal is to blend teaching and growth with a fun family vacation and fellowship with like-minded believers. Each day will have teaching and group discussion time for all ages in the morning, and optional fun activities led by staff members throughout the afternoon and evening. There will be plenty of time to grow in your relationships as a family, as well as to build and deepen relationships with fellow campers.
Here is an example of what a day at camp may include:
After breakfast we would have our morning study time. This will last about 1-1 1/2 hours, and is when we will dive deeply into the topic of the day. During this time couples will meet to discuss the application of that topic to marriage specifically, while children are led by staff members through discussions on the same or a parallel topic in ways that apply to their relationships. For example, if the topic is conflict resolution, parents will discuss this within the context of marriage, while kids have the opportunity to learn about resolving conflict with their siblings or other peers.
Following morning study time, families will be encouraged to reconvene for a family devotional time, to discuss the things they learned that morning, have family prayer, and hold each other accountable for practical ways to live those lessons out.
This will be followed by lunch, and in the afternoon there will be a variety of fun optional activities led by staff members. This could include things such as (but not limited to) organized sports and games, tournaments, crafts, jam sessions for the musically inclined, etc. These are activities that families will be able to do together, separately, or not at all, as they see fit.
Following dinner there will be a short chapel session, including worship time and a speaker who will give a message to kind of wrap up the discussion topic for that day in a way that is relatable for all age groups.
Each evening will end with a fun family activity led by staff and designed to help families get to know other families better.
